Richard Hambleton
Richard Hambleton (June 23, 1952 Vancouver - October 29, 2017 New York) was a Canadian artist. He devoted himself to street art. In 1984 and 1988 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale. In 2017, the documentary Shadowman was made about him. He died of cancer at the age of 65.

Richard Art Hambleton (June 23, 1952 Vancouver - October 29, 2017 New York) was a Canadian artist. He devoted himself to street art. His Alma Mater was Emily Carr University of Art and Design. In the 1970s, he created the Image Mass Murder series, which consisted of drawing the outline of human bodies with chalk. He then poured red paint on the site, making the site look like a murder scene. These works often surprised or shocked passers-by. He has created these works in a total of fifteen cities, both in Canada and in the United States. He later had a number of other projects. In 1984 and 1988 he exhibited at the Venice Biennale. In 2017, the documentary Shadowman was made about him. He died of cancer at the age of 65.
