Pioneers of STREET ART art
In addition to graffiti, the field of street art also includes sticker art, guerilla art, stencil art, various installations and video projections. The concept of street art can withstand any art that takes place in a public space.
Among the most famous artists of this artistic direction today are, for example, Banksy, Kaws, JR, Jef Aerosol or Tod Hanson. Every year, various types of street art festivals are held around the world, where artists come together and showcase the best. The first street festival took place in 2004 in Melbourne.
One of the most important figures in this artistic direction was Jean Michal Basquiat, who as a promising street writer with Haitian roots began to create his works under the nickname Samo, but became acclaimed only later, when he collaborated with a prominent pop art representative Andy Warhol.
In Miami, Florida, there is the Wynwood Art Disctrict, which has become a mecca of graffiti and street art, created by transforming old factories and empty warehouses.
