Fernando Carlo (known as Cope2) (from the South Bronx, New York State) is a graffiti artist from Kingsbridge. He has been painting since 1978 and has received international recognition for his work.
COPE2, although world famous, remained unnoticed in the world of graffiti until the mid-1990s. He and his clan (a team of people who make graffiti) "Kings Destroy" (formerly "Kids Destroy", or simply "KD" are the focal point of the Kings Destroy graffiti film. Cope2 was one of the main targets of the New York Vandal Squad vandalism) and was imprisoned for vandalism, drug trafficking and drug possession (heroin, marijuana, LSD and crack), followed by the publication of the 72-page book Cope2: True Legend. In the 1970s, his cousin Chico 80 dedicated Cope to drawing and incorporating him into a “graffiti family.” He gathered around him his own clan called Kids Destroy, which was renamed Kings Destroy after he became king of the fourth line (subway).
